Hello!I'm Lee Picard- artist, lover, free-spirit.
Born and raised in Westford, Massachusetts, I knew since 3rd grade that I wanted to be an artist. Pursuing art school, I studied painting at New Hampshire Institute of Art, Manchester, NH. I then transferred to Westfield State University, Westfield, MA, where I earned a BA in Fine Art, Spring 2014, Summa Cum Laude. I began pursuing art full-time in 2017 including- live event painting, gallery shows, commission work and murals, therapeutic art workshops and festival vending. I had my first solo art exhibit in June 2019 at the Parish Center for the Arts in my hometown of Westford, MA. Art has always been a healing modality for me and in 2020, I became certified in Therapeutic Art Coaching. Painting is my primary creative outlet, but my studio is always filled with ongoing projects of all different varieties. My hobbies include jewelry making, sewing patchwork, up-cycling and tattooing. I love to try new things and challenge myself to create everyday. I am constantly inspired by reused, repurposed, recycled, natural and found objects. I try to live a sustainable lifestyle, so it is important to me that my art reflects this as well. Adventures are my favorite- hiking, festivals, road trips, live music; all kinds of fun activities! I traveled the US off and on during 2017-2019, living in a 1982 VW Vanagon with my partner, Andy, and dog, Skor, before getting married in 2020. We have since settled down on a wooded homestead in Barre, Ma in 2021, affectionately called Love Nest Acres. I am interested in becoming integrated into my local community and fostering a passion for the arts. Thanks for visiting! --Love and light-- "Wise Woman" by Lucille Moore "I knew a Wise Woman and she said to me, That the river would mold me, And the wild wind would cool me. That the trickster the coyote, He would fool me. That father Sun would warm me, Mother Earth would clothe me, Grandmother Moon would greet me And of the old ways she would teach me. Wise woman, she told me, To always walk lightly, Tread the earth ever gently, Lovingly, so preciously And take from her sparingly. She said, to share with others What you have learned from me. Be still and breathe, ever patiently, For the web of life Has woven what is to be, But you must still chose Your own path, you will see. And lastly, the wise woman said to me, To listen to the wise oneThat dwells within me. To walk my path in balance Is too be free. More than just words, So mote it be"... |
